The Schubert-Reigen consists of six songs by Franz Schubert in arrangements for four violas. The songs are linked by the fact that they were all composed to texts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Before and between these songs are six short pieces by Bo Wiget, each based on a motif from a work by Schubert: six Schubert shadows. They are intended as preludes or interludes to the song arrangements, but can also be played as stand-alone pieces. The song arrangements can also be detached from the round dance and performed individually. All metronome markings are guidelines and do not have to be adhered to. The order is a suggestion if the Schubert round dance is played in its entirety. Bo Wiget
