Uwe Scheer was born in Mödling in 1974. He received his first instrumental lessons on the violin from his grandfather. After graduating from high school, he studied violin, viola, and conducting. He has also been composing since childhood. Among other roles, he serves as the musical director of the Köszeger Streicher. Many of his compositions were written for this orchestra, which also premiered them. His composition Köszegi Polg r Induló/Günser Bürgermarsch, or «Nézd a vil g», enjoys particular popularity and is performed every year at the choir festival of the Bar ts g Concordia Choir Association in Köszeg. In addition to many instrumental pieces for various ensembles-ranging from solo instruments to symphony orchestras-he has also composed several stage works and sacred compositions.
