With the edition of the Fantasy from 1937, which is now available in printed form for the first time, Hans Brunner is to be remembered by music lovers. The musical, playful work has been performed several times in radio and chamber music concerts from the manuscript in recent years (by Giselheer Langscheid, viola and Heinz Börlin, piano, among others). I would like to thank Heinz Börlin for his valuable hints and advice. The Fantasy is a welcome enrichment of the viola literature.
